Connecting People to Jesus and Each Other

FAQ

How long does a normal service last?
Each service lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes and includes worship, a message, communion/offering and an individual time for prayer and reflection.

Do I need to dress up?
Nope! Most of us wear jeans. We have had a few people show up in suits, but most of us won’t be wearing one any time soon unless there is a wedding or a funeral coming up.

Will anyone point me out during service if I am new?
YES! We will have you come up front, tell us your name, your deepest secrets, confess your darkest sin and then name the Sesame Street character you most resemble. NO, not really. We would rather have you enjoy the service without worrying about someone calling on you, so just sit back and check us out. We will try to greet you when you come in, but you can be as anonymous as you would like. Oh, and someone is normally standing at the back of the gym hugging people and shaking hands, but if the hugging thing freaks you out don’t worry we normally only hug on the second visit. One thing you could do during your first visit that would be great is to fill out a guest pack. We would love to follow-up with you and the guest pack gives us your info, but that is up to you.

Is there something for my kids during the service?
We offer classes for Birth through 5 years old, 6-8 year olds and 9-11 year olds. We have everyone start out in the gym for worship and then dismiss the kids before the message. We have a good security system so your kids are always safe.

What kind of music do you play?
Most of our music is a lot like what you would find on a modern Christian radio station (Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Matt Redman, David Crowder) with guitars, drums, keyboards and vocals. If you don’t know those bands think radio pop or light rock. We do get passionate and sometimes get a little loud and rambunctious. It is a pretty upbeat time that might surprise you if you are expecting organs, hymns or chanting. We don’t do a ton of hymns or older choruses, but when we do, we make sure they make sense musically for the current culture we are in.

Am I expected to give financially?
No. If you are a guest and are just checking us out than don’t even worry about it.  When we mention giving we are talking to our regular attenders reminding them that they are called to give faithfully to the community they have committed to.

Are there people to pray with me if I want that?
Yes. If you want someone to pray for you, you can go up to one of the couples during the reflection time, you can ask someone at one of the communion tables to pray with you or you can just let someone know before or after service and we will pray with you and for you then. You can even just write it on one of the prayer cards and someone will pray for you each day that week.

Do I need to be a Christian to attend?
Nope! We are a group of Christians who want to be a safe place for people seeking truth to find Biblical answers. You can come and listen and even discuss what you heard with the preacher the following Monday evening if you’d like to.

Can I bring people with me?
            Yep! The more the merrier.

One last thing…
We would love to have you stop by to check us out. We truly want to be a community of Christians that brings the truth of the Bible to Pueblo West and beyond in a tangible way that makes sense to them and that helps them move closer to God through Jesus. If there is anything we can do to help you walk with Jesus we would do whatever we can to help. Hope to see you soon.
