Connecting People to Jesus and Each Other

Who Are We?

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

-1 Corinthians 12:27

It is our deep conviction that:

  • The Word of God is THE source and THE authority. Therefore we believe that every Christian should pursue daily mediation in the word of God.
    • The Bible is truth and you should read, study, and consider it every day.
  • Jesus is the only way to the Father.
    • Jesus is the only way to get right with God.
  • The glory and nature of God deserves the private and public worship from all creation.
    • God is good we should praise Him.
  • Every person is either currently walking towards the Father through Jesus or away from Him towards judgment.
    • We either walk with Jesus or away from Jesus without a neutral middle ground.
  • Salvation is a personal decision by grace and the essential components of that process are: faith, confession, repentance, and water baptism.
    • None of us deserve to be freed by God, yet He does it anyway.  It takes a personal decision by us to trust that God is who He said He is. We must admit we are who He says we are, changing our hearts, our minds, and our actions.  We do what Jesus did by being buried in water to symbolize the death of our old self, and the beginning of a new life as a disciple and servant of Jesus.
  • The proof of salvation is a fruitful life in Jesus and each Christian will give an account to the Father.
    • Just saying you are a Christian is not enough.  You have to live like one, and produce the kind of life that the Bible describes - not perfect on your own, but working hard at what is important to God.
  • Every Christian should identify with a local church and should attend there weekly. We hold this belief because we understand accountability is necessary to mature in faith.
    • You need to go to church not for attendance record reasons, but so you can grow as others help you.
  • Our love of God is seen in our willing submission to God and the leaders He has established in our lives.
    • Rebellion has no place in a Christians life - not to God and not to godly leaders.
  • The strength and effectiveness of the local church relies on consistent fellowship of its members outside of Sunday worship.
    • Sunday mornings aren't enough for a church to be healthy and effective.  We need you engaged in seeking, serving and following Jesus every day of the week.
  • Prayer is an essential component of a healthy relationship with Jesus and other people, guiding us through life.
    • We need to talk to God and listen to God on a regular basis.
  • Biblical obedience is demonstrated by honoring God through service to the church, the community, and then the world. These are seen through tangible acts of love and kindness.
    • All Christians should serve, starting with the community of Christians they are a part of and then moving out to their community and then other people and places.  This should be obvious to everyone who sees your life.
  • The health and ability of the local church and its members is directly affected by the regular financial support of each household. We believe every Christian should work towards giving a tithe which Biblically is 10%.
    • Christians should give a portion of their finances as an act of faith in God and as a way of supporting the Christian community that serves them.
  • All Christians are commanded by Jesus to engage the lost to help them make a lifelong decision to follow Him.
    • Every Christian needs to learn how to talk to people separated from Jesus or His Church in a way that helps them decide whether or not they want to follow Jesus.  It needs to be done in love and not through manipulation.
